TO CORRESPONDENTS.

" A Subscriber," in our issueofjytay.il, seems to have misconstrued our intention' entirely, with regard to any observations of ours at any time affecting th^ feelings and convictions of religious persons. We are not sure what part of our remarks has been ungrateful to him. We can only say that Catholic and Protestantwill never receive from us any intended disrespect. We are not aware ■that, we have penned a single line which, if considered without prejudice, cati fairly bear any interpretation either unfriendly to liberty or religion. If in anything, however, we have even tempted a smile at'the seeming expense of'the notions of a remote nation indulging in any pious excesses, we have not done so with any unfair intent. " Advantage."—Your letter shall appear in next Friday's issue.
