Taupo detectives are investigating several burglaries in the town at the weekend. Overnight on Friday, the Woolshed Jeanery on Horomatangi Street was entered through barred windows at the back of the shon and

about $60 worth of clothing stolen. On Sunday night the Herald agency in the Marama Arcade was burgled. A cash box containing cheques and about $100 in cash was stolen. Entry was gained through a back window. Attempts were also made to get into the Taupo Drug Store on Tongariro Street and Steve West Menswear on Heu Heu Street. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.
