Power cuts off, care still urged

All restrictions on power consumption have ceased, the Taupo MED has been told. This includes all restrictions on public lighting. "The difficulties this year could have been very much worse but for the cooperation of all supply authorities and the voluntary savings efforts of consumers since the beginning of restrictions in February, said Mr P. W. Blakeley, general manager of the NZED, in a telegram to the borough electrical engineer.
