Fish, chips is

up, luv

The price of fish and chips is to increase in Taupo from today. Fish and ohip shop proprietors have reluctantly agreed to the increase after holding prices as long as they possibly could. One piece of fish will now cost 18 cents, while a scoop of chips will be worth 15 cents.

Freight costs and the price of fat and potatoes have been blamed for the increase. "When the price of potatoes comes down so will the price pf chips," said a spokesman for the fish and chip shop proprietors. "The price of potatoes is a seasonal thing." In Tauranga, Rotorua and Napier fish and chip prices were raised four months ago.
