Five hurt in 3 accidents
Five men were admitted to hospital after three separate accidents on Friday and Saturday. Two Rotorua men were admitted to Rotorua Hospital on Friday night after their car hit a power pole at the intersection of Miro Street and Rotokawa Road, Taupo. The accident happenedat 11.55 p.m. in heavy rain. The men, who are brothers, both suffered cuts to the face and head. They are Peter Lawrence Rigney, 32, drilling contractor, the driver of the car, and Timothy John Rigney, 23, driller. Two more men were admitted to Rotorua Hospital after a utility overturned near the Napier turn-off about 7.15 p.m. on Friday.
The men. Alan Robert Liddle, 31, of Mangatapuri '• Station, Otane, and Glen Edwin Campin, 26, Carterton, were admitted to the Rotorua Hospital where their condition is reported as satisfactory. A 21-year-old Taihape man, William John Sullivan, was admitted, to Taupo Hospital on Saturday after his motor cycle ,collided with a car on State Highway No. 1 between Turangi and Hatepe. His condition yesterday was described as satisf4ctory. The accident happened • late on Saturday morhing.
