Notes passed

Some of the bank notes stolen in the $46,000 mail bag theft from a Napier-Welling-ton goods train nearly 18 months ago have turned up in Taupo. Police say a number of the notes have been passed in the town.

The mail bag was recovered in Taupo some months ago. More of the notes have been traced in Rotorua. The consignment of old bank notes went missing somewhere between Napier and Wellington.
