400 lots may be released
The Government is planning to release 400 new sections in Taupo — if the alks to be held soon on freeing Crown land for residential subdivision are successful. The -sections are expected to be developed concurrently with the proposed 200 sections in the Waipahihi subdivision. The MP for Taupo, Mr J. W. Ridley, announced last week, on behalf of the Minister of Housing, Mr Fraser, that Government representatives would meet the Taupo Borough Council possibly before the end of the week, to discuss land availability in the town. Mr Ridley said the Minister had assured him that the subdivisional work would begin as soon as possible.
