Scope of VSA assignments broadened
Volunteer Service Abroad has sent more than 750 volunteers to 21 countries in South-east Asia and the Pacific since 1963. In the past year, voiunteers served in 13 countries, five in Asia and eight in the Pacific. The scope of assignments and projects has broadened considerably over the years so that now volunteers are serving in almost every professional, semi-pro-fessional and technical field. More than half of all volunteers have been in the education field from preschool to university level.
Skilled volunteers are found in agricultural and forestry assignments, in fisheries research, attached to medical departments, in engineering. accountancy, and in all trades. VSA is now seeking an accountant. a radio technician, a builder, carpenter or mechanic. a forester, a laboratory technician, an English graduate, interested in teaching English as a second language, while also editing English publications for a housing authority. an engineer, either civil, electrical, agricultural, or chemical, an occupational therapist, or dietitian.
