The Member for Taupo, Mr Jack Ridley fcentre], the Mayor, Mr C. S. Currie, and the secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr G. Clout, discusS informally the land shortage problem in Taupo. Earlier this week Mr Ridley, on behalf of the Minister of Housing, Mr Fraser, announced that Government representatives are to meet the borough
council — possibly before the end of next week — for talks about making Crown land available. The Chamber of Commerce, also concerned about the lack of land for residential subdivision, will have representatives at the talks. The chamber was to have sent a deputation to Wellington to discuss the matter with various Ministers.
