180 sections planned at Kuratau
' Details of „ large-seale land development at Kura* tau by Rangatira Partners Ltd have been released in an in-depth report of the Taumarunui County Council. Development plans for the subdivision provide for 180 sections to be created. The council has been involved in discussion with the company over essential ; services, particularly sewerage, to be provided for the area. However, the council has rejected the firm's proposed waste water scheme ! as it has commissioned its — own consultants to prepare
an overall scheme. The council has agreed to negotiate and obtain land for a treatment works but intends to pass on a proportion of any costs involved to the development company. It has been mooted that the council will use the treatment works to also serve sewerage service requirements for the .255 sections at the Kuratau river mouth and 33 sections at Omori. Consent in principle has been given to Rangatira Partners Ltd to proceed with planning and land acquisition for the scheme.
