Refuse: do's and dont's
The Taupo borough refuse collection timetable is to be changed to allow rubbish to be cleared from the commercial area on Tuesdays and Fridays. Ordinary household collections are to be limited to a maximum of two cubic feet of refuse each week. The maximum quantity of refuse that will be removed for other categories is:
uttices and shops — general: two cubic feet per tenant twice weekly. Shops — fruit, meat, fish and tearooms: four cubic feet per tenant twice ' weekly. Garages & Industries: four cubic feet per tenant twice weekly. Hotels, schools and hospital: eight cubic feet per tenant twice weekly. Receptacles must be of galvanised iron or other
approved rigid waterproof material and must have a tight-fitting lid and handles for lifting and emptying. The .''kleensak" paper bag is acceptable and residents using this method of rubbish disposal are entitled to one sack a week. Plastic bags are acceptable only if used in a container as a liner. .
