Man dies after crash
An Atiamuri man died in the Rotorua Hospital on Sunday night from injuries received earlier when his car left State Highway 30 near Upper Atiamuri. He was: Ian Winstone Whibley, 22, of Tirohanga, Atiamuri. The Rotorua police said that Mr Whibley, who was alone in the , car, was driving south toward Atiamuri about 10 p.rn. when, it is .believed, the vehicle 'struck a patch of ice on the road after overtaking another vehicle. Mr Whibley's car left the road and he died from his injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.
