A planned three-hour total power cut was cancelled in Taupo on Sunday when the M.E.D. found it was running within its

allocation. The borough electrical engineer, Mr K. G. Stewart, said yesterday Taupo finished its fortnightly allocation "right on target." His department took advantage of milder weather to ease water heating restrictions and cancel the planned total shutdown.
