SOME PROGRESS ON PUMP STATION

Some progress is finally being .made on the Lake Terrace pumping station. Block layers are assembling the front wall of the building and subcontractors are beginning to install pumping machinery. The borough engineer, Mr W. K. Kiddle, said "substantial progress" should be made shortly on the new station. "However, the subcontractors are still being organised," he said. Earlier this month the borough council decided to take over the work from the original contractor, Smitheram Construction, because of slow progress.
