Chamber to meet 3 Ministers over land

The Taupo Chamber of Commerce is to send a three-man deputation to Wellington to discuss the problem of land availability and housing in Taupo. At a special meeting of the chafnber executive earlier this week, the acting town clerk, Mr R. Little, said the council was con-

cerned at inflated prices in Taupo and that the Government should be able to sell the land at lower prices. The chamber decided that as a first priority any new land brought in for housing should be on Crown land above Taupo central because the land

could be easily serviced foi water, sewerage and drainage. The deputation — Messrs L. Saunders, J. Nash and R. Holyoake — are to meet the Ministers of Housing, Works and Land as soon as the MP for Taupo, Mr J. W. Ridley, can organise it.
