Maori life style

w ^ The Royal Forest and J Bird Protection Society had * a different and much- * enjoyed evening meeting * when Mrs Harawera, | teacher of Maori at Taupo * College, spoke on her early | life in the Urewera country. Her home was at Rua- * toria — which was con- * sidered quite near the £ bright lights of civilisation.

Her early life seemed to be free and interesting and many of our city-bound young people would envy her the adventurous and friendly Community Jife she led. The legends and tales she told and the ancient waiata she sang all added up to a thoroughly pleasant evening.
