Taupo Table Tennis Association inter-club play last week produced some close matches in the A grade. Wairakei, which defeated Rebels 9-3, was the only team to emerge with a clear lead. Ross Davis played particularly well for Freightways to win three games against Borough A. Results were. — B grade: United 8, Plyco B 4; MYC 7, Borough 5; DSIR 8, Plyco A 4.
C grade: College A 6, Borough 6; Tutemohuta 7, Borough II 5; MYC 7, Forest B 5. D grade: College B 11, Freightways 1; College D 12, Taupo 0; Borough III 11, Wairakei D 1. The world ranked Czechoslovakian team will play a New Zealand invitation side at Rotorua tomorrow night. Taupo players are urged to attend the tournament, as it is one of the few chances to see players of such standing.
