Baroque group to play

The Baroque Ensemble, of Hamilton, a group specialising in music of the 18th century and earlier, is to perform in Taupo on Saturday. The visit is being sponsored by the Community Arts Service. . The group consists of Mary Tatchell, ' mezzosoprano; Roslyn Hainswofth, flute and recorder; Chris Hainsworth, at the keyboard; and Michael Tatchell, baritone. It is some time since the C.A.S. has presented a male vocalist. For the Taupo performance, howeVer, Mary Tatchell will be absent. The players are residents of Hamilton and all have 'performed publicly for several years. Roslyn was a member of the Youth Orchestra in 1973, Mary and Michael broadcast frequently on the YC programmes, and Chris, formerly organist of the Dominican Church, Toulouse, now lectures in French and music at Waikato University. They will perform in St Paul's Hall.
