Drugs: bail for couple
A Taupo couple appeared before a Justice of the Peace in the Taupo Magistrate's Court this week charged with drug offences alleged to have been committed at the weekend. Mr R. N. Perry granted a 19-year-old waitress and a 23-year-old salesman interim suppression of name. No pleas were taken. The pair were remanded on $200 bail until next Tuesday's court sitting in Taupo. The woman was charged with both possessing and smoking the narcotic cannabis (marijuana) in Taupo on June 9. The man faced charges of procuring cannabis on June 8 in Hamilton and possessing it in Taupo the following day.
