Money pours in

The Opportunity Shop has donated $200 to the Taupo Senior Citizens Association after the club made an appeal for funds in an article published in the Taupo Times earlier this week. Only hotirs after the appeal a $40 donation was also made by Mana Marine. "We think this is a good cause and it is a shame that no one else has come forward with a donation," said Mr P. Toms, of Mana Marine.

The association has to raise $2000 by June 20 so that it can apply for a $50,000 grant from the Kiwi lottery funds for proposed clubrooms. Another donation of $50 has also been made to the club this week. The association president, Mr W. S. Hasler, said he was pleased with the response to the club's appeal. The senior citizens are to hiold a fair in the Memorial Hall tomorrow in a further bid to boost funds.
