As local body elections draw nearer Taupo toastB masters are starting to he "earbashed" on local affairs. V At last week's toastmasters' club meeting, Ross Davis delivered a speech on "satellite towns" for I Taupo, and club president Warwick Keys spoke on the borough council and I promises made by candi1 dates three years ago. Mr Keys ended his I speech by announcing his intention to contest the I borough elections in ■ October. The toastmaster of the 1 evening award was won by Michael Wilson for running a good table topics session. Speech assignments were also completed by Robin Janson, Alec Geddes and ■ Roger Greenwell. Some 73 outside assignments have been completed by club members — and by the end of this week the number will have increased \ H to 88.
