SKI CLUB MAY BUILD CLUBHOUSE

The Taupo Water Ski Club is considering building a clubhouse at Lake Rotongaio. * At the annual meeting of the club last week it was decided that a facility of this kind was badly needed. "The club would be grateful for donations of any building materials", said club vice-president Mr Peter Rundstrom. The club hopes to be able to work through the winter so that everything is ready for the summer. The/ newly-elected committee has decided to sell the club's existing boat and buy a new fibre-glass craft powered by a 135 h.p.

outboard motor. The club is interested in enrolling six keen junior skiers to undertake full training. Anyone under 16 years and still dependent on parents will be eligible to join as a junior. During the election of officers, Mr Tom Anderson stood down this year owing to other commitments and Mr Ralph Jenkins was unanimously elected club president. Other officers elected were: Vice,- president, P. Rundstrom; secretary, M. Stenhouse; treasurer, J. Ellis. Committee: P. McQuinn; R. Garrick; L. Garrick; M. Laird; I. Stenhouse.
