140 lambs

A 16-year-old had his , first excursion onto the shearing board last week and put 140 lambs down the shute. T Barry Johnstone, of Kinloch Station, a pupil at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College last year, saw Miss Kristalee Sargison clip 137 lambs in a working day two days ^ previously. Like her he had practised during "smokos" and, like her, he wanted to have a go at the real thing. In two "sessions, at the station and in Mr K. ■-■■■ Robinson's shed, he com- . pleted his tally of 140 lambs, an excellent first up effort and one that could lead Barry into full time shearing. He has been working as ~ V»a ■ presser during the current season.
