Two teams played off for top honours in the Taupo Bowling Club's open triples tournament on Saturday after finishing with four wins out of five games. H. Baigent (skip), K. Johnston and N. Norris ran out the winners from W. Bell (skip), F. Raynor and K. North. The tournament, played in

Three wins: L. Gabolinscy (skip), J. Walsh and F. Gabolinscy; A. Crawford (skip), S. Hall and S. Tuck; S. McLeod (skip), L. Lock and E. Simonsen;

T. McMillan (skip), J. Warner and A. Miller; W. Potter (skip), P. Martin and R. Potter; R. Croft (skip), M. Goldstone and R. Spence. Two and a half wins: R. Turton (skip), F. Beckett and G. Morse. Two wins: S. Taylor (skip), E. Gilmore and D. Evans; W. Harris (skip), H. Bond and D. Roberts. No wins: R. O'Callaghan (skip), G. Brown and J. Thurston. MIXED EVENT On Sunday two teams had to play off after finishing with a possible three wins in a mixed triples tournament. S. Taylor (skip), W. Sutherland and Mrs Pedersen proved too good for the trio led by Mrs Delany who was supported by K. North and C. Newson. J. Warner (skip), S. Brown and Mrs Dean recorded two and a half wins, with Mrs Waldrom (skip), J. Thurston and C. Hebbend, E. Gilmore (skip), F. Raynor and Mrs Radcliffe, and C. Parlane (skip), R. O'Callaghan and Mrs Douglas having two wins. J. Dillon (skip), Mrs Ruscoe and T. Fitzpatrick, and Mrs Dillon (skip), D. Blue and Mrs Blue had one win and a half, W. Potter (skip), Mrs Fitzpatrick and Mrs Barber, Mrs Fletcher (skip), G. Brown and T. Mackley one win.
