With the arrival of summer, when the family motorist is most active, and when tyres are prone to their greatest wear, engineers at the Goodyear international Tyre Technical Centre in Luxembourg have issued the following list of "Do's" and "Don'ts" to ensure longer tyre life and safety to the motorist with particular reference to women. A new tractor-mounted elevator which can be quickly and easily transported from one location to another has been developed by a British firm. Mounted on the rear three-point linkage, it will handle bales, boxes, sacks or crates. Overall length of the conveyor is 15ft and 14ft between drive centres. Two hand winches are provided at the rear of the machine. One adjusts the "loading" end between zero and 5ft and the other the "delivery' end between 7ft and 12ft. F or transferring loads from one vehicle to another or from a loading bay to a vehicle, the conveyor may be set horizontally at a height of 5ft. By raising the entire elevator on the three-point linkage, the overall height can be increased by 2ft. When not in use the elevator stands on its own baseplate.
