NEW GRANDSTAND AT ARAWA PARK

Construction will soon begin on a new grandstand for stewards and members of the Rotorua Racing Club at Arawa Park. The new building has been designed by the Hamilton architect, Mr B. M. Gleeson. The stand has an area of 36,300 square feet and will provide seating for 1100 to 1200 people. . Constructed of reinforced

concrete frames, the stand has been designed to be main-tenance-free and will be topped by an aluminium roof. Particular attention has been paid in the planning to enable the existing wooden stand to remain during construction, allowing the continuation of meetings at the course. It is hoped that the new building will be completed in 10 to 12 months
