STRONG WINDS FOR YACHTS
Strong winds marred the Taupo Yacht Club's Christmas regatta on Saturday and Sunday. White caps on thc lake spoke of the strong, gustv
winds and capsizes were numerous. But the conditions were enjoyed by the catamarans in particular, and high speeds were reached on down wind legs of the triangular course. The regatta drew an entry of about 60 yachts from most North Island centres and competition in the various trophy races was keen. Results: Sheehan Cup: Open class, Ginger 111 (E. Pardon,
