CONTROL OF RESERVES

A special authority to carry out the task of planning to ensure the preservation of 38,000 acres of Lake Taupo reserves is likely to be established by the Government. The director of parks and reserves for the Department of Internal Affairs, Mr P. H. Lucas, said in Wellington yesterday that the proposed Lake Taupo Reserves Authority is expected to be widely representative and charged with the administration of the total reserves scheme.
