EXCELLENT SCORES

Players showed their liking for the fast conditions prevailing at the Taupo Golf Club during the weekend by returning excellent scores. A. Tumer returned 46 points for an easy win in Saturday 's stableford competition from H. Wills 41 and Grant Wilson 39. . J. F. Watson amassed 47 points for victory in Sunday 's stableford event from P. Thompson 45 and T. J. O'Neill 42. No twos were scored on Saturday, but H. J. Gowling and C. Smale holed birdies at the 6th hole on Sunday. The twos' "bird's nest", for which birdies are required at the 6th and 17th holes, now totals 44 balls. Twilight golf will continue on Wednesday s throughout the holiday season. Starting time for the nine-hole competition is from 4 p.m. onwards and bookings may be made with the club professional, J. A. Clelland.
