'New Look' Taupo Golf Course
The advent of a new clubhouse, access to which is gained from extensions to Spa Road, has invoked changes in the playing lay-out of the Taupo Golf Club's course.
The starting point is complementary to the clubhouse and the No. 1 hole, formerly the sixth, has been converted to a 3 par using the existing green. Seven becomes two and then players move into the major reorganisation of the lay-out. The former 13th is the third and the back nine from that point has been converted to the front section of the 18 holes. For the benefit of visiting golfers we reproduce a plan of the revised lay-out. The old clubhouse is no longer in use and players should converge on the new building, where the secretary's office is sited. Full professional facilities are situated adjacent to the magnificent new structure and on the perimeter of the course.
