Scout contests

The Scout Association of New Zealand has announced special competitions for all sections of the movement in 1971. The Cub section for boys aged 8-11 years of age will carry out community good turns. Scouts, aged from 11-16, will compete in local lightweight Camping and hiking competitions, and will have to show an interest in either history or conservation.

For Venturers, aged from 16-19, there are two photographic competitions based on adventurous outdoor activities and service activities. Trophies for all the competitions are once again being provided by the Bata Shoe Company of New Zealand, which has sponsored these activities for several years.
