Last year an estimated 2000 to 2500 people turned up and Public Relations Officer Mr L. J. Bergman is hoping for a similar attendance this time. He said service organisations and the Legion of Frontiersmen would control parking and entrance and he appealed for public cooperation. Patrons should head for the lighted gate where they could collect candles, holders and carol sheets. A nominal charge of 10 cents would be made to cover costs of production. He suggested that people sit on the hill facing the stage from which the Taupo InterChurch committee would conduct the hour-long service interspersed with items. Cars with crippled and elderly folk will be directed to special parking areas. Mr Bergman said everyone was welcome. But he warned that it would be wise to wait for the stream to move, rather than try to be first out, at the conclusion of the programme.
