COUNSELLOR OF HONOUR
Mrs A. H. Hope, a member of the executive of the New Zealand Red Cross Society since 1959, chairman of the N.Z. Junior Red Cross Council for two years and the Junior Red Cross organiser for Taupo Centre for the last 12 years, was given the society 's highest honour at the annual council meeting of the N.Z. Red Cross Society in Dunedin. She is now a Counsellor of Honour. Mrs Hope has been closely identified with the society s work for many years, being elected president of the Porangahau sub-centre in the Hawke's Bay Red Cross Centre in 1939, continuing in this office until 1959. She was commandant of the Hawke's Bay Voluntary Aid Detachments from 1945 to 1951 and has been a delegate from both the Hawke's Bay and Taupo Red Cross Centres on the National Council. Mrs Hope was largely instrumental in forming the Taupo Centre and has been Junior Red Cross organiser ever since its formation.
