Second Rugby League Club

i A second rugby league club from the Turangi district will participate in the Midlands central North Island competitions next winter. Club members recently decided that the new club will be known as the Tokaanu rugby league club. The club already has over 25 playing members and 30 supporters. Application for affiliation to the Midlands Central League was approved last week. The club has applied to the Tokaanu Domain Board for the use of the domain and other facilities for training and matches. The club also hopes to have schoolboy matches in the district during the coraing season and expect as many new players as workers transfer to Turangi to work on the power project.
