THREE YEARS' PROBATION

A woman who had previously pleaded guilty in, the Taupo Magistrate's Court to charges of unlawfully taking a car, stealing a cassette tape recorder and obtaining credit by fraud was placed on probation for three years when she appeared for sentence before Mr W. R. Birks S.M. in the Rotorua Magistrate's Court on Friday. She was Gaylene Arna Welsford, 23, no fixed abode. Mr Birks said he had given a lot of consideration to Welsford's case. "Your offences do seem a cry for help — a call for someone to look after you. "I'm confident you will settle down and enter stable conditions. but society has to box through till you do,' he said.
