Traffic Fines Imposed
Fines for traffic offences were imposed in the Taupo Magistrate's Court by Mr G. J. Donne, S.M,, as follows: — Noisy vehicle: Earth Removers, Waikato, Ltd £4, A. Taramoeroa £4, K. B. Nash £4. Exceeding axle weight: N. R. Wallace £5/10/-, Richardson's Transport, Ltd- £8/10/-. Licence offences: T. Ormsby £3, Richardson's Transport Ltd. £5. No warrant of fitness: H. Hull £1 10/-. Dangerous riding: W. J. Hull £4, T. Ormsby £4. Exceeding speed limit: W. Jones £5. Defective steering: H. Hull £5. Failed to yield right-of-way: G. Pakeha £7/10/-. For a breach of the Motor Launch Regulations, G. Arkley was fined £5, and for fishing without licences J. L. Eyles and R. C. Maxwell were fined £5 each. Court costs of £1/10/were ordered in all the above charges. Careless driving: N. Tohnson £4.
The wedding of Miss Dawn Lourenz, youngest daughter of Mrs A. M. Lourenz, to David (Ducka) Loughlin, youngest son of Mrs Hine Loughlin, Paorahape Street, Taupo, took place in Melbourne, Australia, recently. The bride wore a floor length gown of white wool ichepe embroidered with crystal and pearls and a full-length tulle veil, held in place by a matching pearl and crystal studded headband. Her bouquet was of creamy slipper orchids. One senior and two junior bridesmaids attended her in gowns of lemon wool crepe. The best man was Mr Ray Mopeki. The reception was held in the Talbot Hall, Melbourne. The young couple are at present residing at Otumoetai.
