Duties mainly involve the calculation and distribution of workmen's pays and allied duties and it is preferred, but not essential, that applicants have some experience of pay procedure. Salary will be up to £1005 p.a., but keen and energetic clerks can expect to be trained in other phases of the Department's work to fit them for promotion. There are generous provisions for sick and annual leave and superannuation and welfare schemes are available. Superannuation membership is compulsory for staff between the ages of 17 and 25 years and thereafter optional. A construction type house is available for a married man at a reasonable rental.
