Food Premises

The transfer of food premises licences is not always couforming to Taupo Borough Council requirements, said the health inspector, Mr D. J. Bulcraig in a report to the council. "As a result incoming purchasers are faced with outstanding requisitions," he said. "I feel that the local authority must take a firm stand in this matter and if necessary proceed with a test case. "The indiscriminate transfer of licences complicates matters and reduces the chances of instigating improvement and is contrary to regulations." The wording of the regulation governing transfer of the licence is as follows: — "The holder of the certificate shall make application to the local authority to have the alteration recorded in the record of registration and endorsed upon the certificate of registration which shall be produced for the purpose."
