Resiting Of Otoukou School

TURANGI (OC) The Tongariro power dev- ; elopment project engineer, Mr W. A. Gibson, informed the Turangi Liaison Committee last monday that the Otoukou School was to be moved from its present position to a site adjacent to the National Park highway. This decision had not been reached without considerable resistance from the school committee and local residents in the district. However, Mr Gibson stated that the area around the school was to be despoiled. This was unavoidable in the overall scheme and the school had little choice but to move to a new site. The school committee now agreed with the move.
