Borough Lighting

Five new street lights have been installed in the rear of the Tongariro Street shops. Among other work done by Taupo Borough Council electricity department in June was the replacing of a mercury vapour lamp with a fluorescent fitting at the top of the slope on the' main highway at Waipahihi. The borough electrical engineer, Mr K. G. Stewart, considers this a great improvement which does away with the glare previously noticed when coming up the hill from the south.
