Impressed With The Standard
Representatives of eiglit overseas airlines said yesterday that the standard of motels in Taupo was higher than that generally fouud in Auckland. The group spent the day on a sample "package tour" of Taupo and district which is expected to prove popular with the jet airline tourists who are expected in New Zealand with the opening of Auckland's new airport at Mangere. The tour, which takes in a trip on Lake Taupo, a swim in the AC Baths and visits to Huka Falls, Wairakei and Aratiatia is being arranged through Spanz and Taupo Scenic Tours, The group said they were most impressed with the atmosphere at the Spa Hotel and felt it would be particularly attractive to overseas visitors. Tourists will leave Auckland shortly after 8 a.m., and returriing from Taupo at 4.15 p.m. JThe cost of the whole tour, which mcludes lunch at the Spa Hotel, will be £10.
