HAMS VISIT RADIO 1ZA

Members of the Taupo branch of the New Zealand Assoclation of Radio Transmitters paid a visit to Station 1ZA recently, where they were shown over the station by Mr Dick Miller, senior technician at 1ZA. What was anticipated to be a quick look over the station before holding the monthly meeting turned out to last over two hours. Members were most appreciative of Mr Miller, who described the technical side of the station from the control centre in the studio, to the dual transmitters. Members were very impressed with the modern transmitting, receiving, and sound equipment used, also with its flne modern building. A demonstration on monitoring transmissions was given, using test equipment. The visit to Station 1ZA proved not only enjoyable but stimulated interest jimong members interested in the technical side of radio. The president of the branch, Mr A. C. L. Fooks, thanked Mr Miller for his courtesy in showing members over the station.
