Entries Invited

The University of Auckland is inviting entries for the Maharaia Winiata Memorial Prize which was set up in 1964 in memory of the late Dr Winiata. The competition, the prize for which will be about £30, will be open to all persons who are over the age of 18 on January 1 in the year of the award. The prize will be awarded annually for the most outstanding original essay on some aspect of Maori culture (traditional or contemporary) presented or published in the year of the award. Essays of not less than 2000 words are required to qualify. Entries for the competition shouid be in the hands of the registrar of the University of Auckland not later than October 1.
