PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to powers under Section 105 Counties Act 1956, Section 96 Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, Sections 51 and 55 inclusive Rating Act 1925 and the respective amendments thereto and all other powers it , thereunto enabling, the Taupo County Council intends to make and levy at 10 a.m. on TUESDAY, the 27th day of July, 1965, the following rates — 1. (a) A GENERAL RATE of 1.75d. (one decimal seven five pence) in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Rolls for the time being in force for the County with the exception of the Riding and County Town of Mangakino. (b) A CATCHMENT RATE of l/12d. (one twelfth of a penny) in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Roil for the time being in force for the Bay of Plenty Catchment Commission's rating area within the County. - (c) A SPECIAL HALL RATE of .ld. (decimal one of a penny) in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Rolls for the time being in force for the Whakamaru Hall Special Rating Area for the purpose of meeting annual loan charges on the Whakamaru Hall Loan 1961 — £8000.
(d) A SANITARY AND STORMWATER DRAINAGE UNIFORM ANNUAL CHARGE pursuant to powers under Section 125 Counties Act, 1956 of: — (i) £3/7/- in respect of every property containing one water closet or urinal served by a public sanitary drain. (ii) £2/7/- in respect of every additional water closet or urinal up to a total of 10 on any one property. (iii) £1/7/- in respect of every additional water closet or urinal above a total of 10 on any one property. All the above rates and charges are for the period commencing April 1, 1965, and enaing March 31, 1966. All rates and charges will be payable in one sum at the County Office, 72 Lake Terrace, Taupo, on AUGUST 31, 1965. NOTICE is further given that a rebate of sixpence on every complete pound shall be allowed on so much of the 1965/6.6 General Rate and Mangakino General Rate as is paid on or before SEPTEMBER 30, 1965. COUNTY ELECTIONS — OCTOBER 9, 1965 SUPPLEMENTARY ROLL OF ELECTORS NOTICE is hereby given that copies of the Main Roll of Electors for the County are open for inspection at all Post Offices, County Agents or Stores in the County and at the County Offices at Taupo and Mangakino. Any person of the age of twenty-one years who is a British subject and has resided in Taupo County during the three months past, is entitled to have his or her name on the Roll. Persons holding rating qualifications are also entitled to enrolment. Any person entitled to be enrolled and whose name does not appear on the Main Roll should make immediate application for enrolment as the Supplementary Roll of Electors will close at 5 p.m. on FRIDAY, 10th September, 1965. Forms for enrolment are available at the Post Offices, Stores and County Offices mentioned above. Attention is drawn to Section 88 of the Local Elections and Polls Act -1953 which provides for compulsory enrolment of persons holding residential qualifications and a fine for non-com-pliance with this requirement. (c) A SANITATION UNIFORM ANNUAL CHARGE, pursuant to powers under Section 115 Counties Act, 1956 of: — . £3/5/- in respect of all properties which have a building erected thereon and from which the Council is prepared to collect refuse.
