TV OR RADIO INTERFERENCE NOT DEALERS' RESPONSIBILITY
Taupo radio and television dealers consider they shouid not be made recipients of complaints from the public concerning set reception and interference. One dealer, Mr J. S. Lockyer, said complaints of television or radio reception shouid be made to the Post Office or radio inspectors, not to the dealers. He said he does not mind the complaints, as such, but co-channel interference or reception of radio-telephone transmission is the responsibility of the inspectors. I Mr Lockyer said people
with complaints shouid contact the Post Office giving their name and initials as well as an accurate address. The postmaster will then forward the details to Rotorua by telegram. The complaint is recorded in the radio inspector's office and, subsequently, when the inspector is next in the Taupo area, the complaint will be investigated. He concluded that in some cases where there is interference with the Taupo translator, the Post Office and a technician from the Taupo Televiewers' Association combine to rectify the fault.
