Member Was First At New P.O.
The first customer at the new Paetiki Road Po^t Office on Monday was ,the member for the district, Mrs Rona Stevenson, who did much to promote this amenity for the northeastern area of the town. Mrs Stevenson met the relieving postmaster, Mr N. H. Steele, and the postmistress at Paetiki Road, Mrs B. M. Webley, before handing over some telegrams and posting a number of letters. Later, Mrs Stevenson said the office would tfill a long-felt need in the area. Local residents had asked her to look into the possibility of an office ;in the area and she had made representations to the Post-master-General who had approved of the proposal.
