MOVED TO NEW SCHOOL
TODAY
TURANGI.
(OC)
Today saw the occupation of the first new primary school in Turangi. The entire primary school, up to Form II, moved over from the Tokaanu District High School into their new school, leaving only . the secondary pupils in the old school. This will give the secondary school room for expansion as pupils arrive within the next few months.
The organisation of moving over was in the hands of Mr G. W. Grave, present headmaster of the District High School, who will continue to be responsible for the administration of both the new primary school and the secondary school until a separate high school is formed. It is planned to build three further . primary schools in the district, to cope with the new arrivals, and a new high school will be built where the District High School now stands.
