Mangakino Still Main Headquarters
Mangakino's role in the development of further North Island power projects is outlined in the annual report of the Ministry of Works. "Mangakino will be the main administrative headquarters > for the Tongariro works until accommodation becomes available at Turangi," the report says. "It will continue as the headquarters for the remaining work on the Waikato schemes as well as for maintenance operations. This involves the continuing operations of workshops, which are also called on to do work for other projects and districts."
