Emergency Corp Communications

Taupo Radio Emergency Corp will discuss and prepare a plan for radio communication, in connection with Taupo's civil defence organisation, at the corp's meeting next week. When the plan is completed it will be presented to Taupo borough and county councils for consideration. In the event of an emergency in the Taupo area, the corp would act in liaison with the civil defence organisation and the Post Office. Direction on communications would come from a Post Office official until possible damage to telephone service was attended to. Mr G. Green, Taupo, has been appointed communications officer for the civil defence movement and he will convene the meeting.
