WILL PROCEED WITH PLANS

FOR SQUASH

Although the Taupo Borough Council had declined the Taupo Squash Rackets Club's application for financial assistance, the Club could proceed with its plans for erecting two courts. Following a further fund raising campaign, sufficient funds were now either promised or reasonably forseeable. Building of the courts would commence either early in October, or before and they would be open for play by the Christmas holidl'ys.

It is intended to build the courts on a site to be leased to the Club by the Taupo Domain Board, overlooking the third green of the Taupo Golf Club. The area has been cleared and is ready to be built on. The Squash Club, through the generosity of Mr E. L. Elmiger, has contributed £80 toward the cost of site development.
